Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is a service model that delivers computer infrastructure on an outsourced basis to support enterprise operations. Typically, IaaS provides hardware, storage, servers and data center space or network components; it may also include software.

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is also known as Hardware as a Service (HaaS).

Platform as a Service (PaaS)

PaaS (Platform as a Service), as the name suggests, provides computing platforms which typically include operating systems, programming language execution environments, databases, web servers and other development services.

Examples include cloud platforms such as AWS Elastic Beanstalk, Windows Azure and similar managed application environments.

Software as a Service (SaaS)

While in SaaS (Software as a Service) model you are provided with access to application software often referred to as "on-demand software". You do not have to worry about the installation, setup and running of the application; the service provider manages it for you. You simply use the application through your device or browser.

A common example of SaaS is web-based email where the servers, application and infrastructure are managed by the service provider.
